Read about the Benefits of Drumming

For the past 37 years Sundiata Kata has been working at the San Diego Center For Children, a residential and day treatment facility for emotionally disturbed children ages 6 to 14.  Sundiata created the music program at the Center for Children and as the director has a clear understanding of the children and youths in his care.

With over 40 years observing and working with emotionally disturbed children as well as youths who have been damaged within the dysfunctional family structure, Sundiata has seen first hand how the positive healing powers of music, dance and the spoken word play a part in the healing process.

Sundiata has witnessed the therapeutic results music has on children with cancer.  The calming effects music has on runaway teens with anger management problems, children with ADHD, ADD, adults who have been incarcerated and everyday people dealing with the daily stresses of life.

Because of this, Sundiata has dedicated his life's work to making a difference in the lives of children and all people with his gift of music.
